| GEST NEWS: Dr. Jafar Golzarian forecasts the future of embolization in Endovascular Today |
3rd February 2010 - GEST Director and co-Founder Dr. Jafar Golzarian shared his insight in the international professional press this month, commenting on the rapidly changing field of embolization and offering his five-year forecast in January’s edition of Endovascular Today. He predicts that "We will witness increasing indications and acceptance of this technique [embolization] by the medical community. With the confirmation of the preliminary data on drug-eluting particles and the development of new devices, I think embolization will continue to grow as a platform for different drug delivery and intracellular therapy." The best features of GEST 2010 were highlighted in Dr. Golzarian's interview:
Dr. Golzarian also discussed his experience in uterine fibroids embolization, an important part of the scientific program at GEST 2010. Read more of the exciting topics to be discovered at GEST 2010 or continue reading Dr. Golzarian’s article at Endovascular Today. The January edition of Interventional News also featured Dr. Jafar Golzarian commenting on resorbable embolization, a collaboration with two other GEST 2010 Faculty Members, Dr. Alexandre Laurent (France) and Dr. Keigo Osuga (Japan). The article addressed resorbable microspheres, in vivo evaluation of resorption and more new developments in this field. Another highlight of GEST 2010 will be the international participation. “GEST has proven to be a very fertile meeting because of the large international collection of experts and key opinion leaders, especially from Asia,” said Dr. Golzarian. GEST co-Founder and Director Dr. Ziv Haskal is also profiled in Interventional News this month, with a fitting picture showing the entertainment alive and well in the GEST 2010 meeting. Drs. Jafar Golzarian, Ziv Haskal and Marc Sapoval
