15th February 2010 - Endovascular Forum presents a GEST Interactive Case: Embolization and Massive Traumatic Retroperitoneal Hemorrhage
A 44-year-old man was airlifted to the hospital after a severe motor vehicle accident. CT scan demonstrated pelvic fractures and free extravasation of iodinated contrast into the left retroperitoneum. He was very hypotensive despite rapid transfusions of blood products, intravenous fluids, and a cell saver. Interventional radiology was consulted for urgent control of his hemorrhage.

10th February 2010 - GEST 2010 will be showcasing the latest research from international interventional radiologists. Record breaking numbers of abstracts have been submitted from over 20 countries, spanning all continents, and with more submissions than ever before. 8th February 2010 - The GEST meeting is pleased to announce co-founder Dr. Ziv Haskal has been named to be the next editor of the Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology (JVIR). GEST 2010, the largest international embolization meeting, will be held from 6–9 May in San Francisco for the first time in the U.S. Led by Dr. Jafar Golzarian, Dr. Ziv Haskal and Dr. Marc Sapoval, internationally renowned speakers from 15 countries will present oncologic, arterial, venous and chemoembolization related research, reviews, Master Classes, Hands-On teaching workshops, and live demonstrations. 3rd February 2010 - GEST Director and co-Founder Dr. Jafar Golzarian shared his insight in the international professional press this month, commenting on the rapidly changing field of embolization and offering his five-year forecast in January’s edition of Endovascular Today.
He predicts that "We will witness increasing indications and acceptance of this technique [embolization] by the medical community. With the confirmation of the preliminary data on drug-eluting particles and the development of new devices, I think embolization will continue to grow as a platform for different drug delivery and intracellular therapy."
